JOB: Regional Sales Manager
LOCATION: Orange County, California
STATUS: Full-Time  

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the National Sales Manager will be responsible for the direct efforts to increase sales by territory within a specified geographical region (South of Paso Robles, CA, Arizona, New Mexico and Southern Nevada).

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and implementation of long term sales strategies
  • Manage independent sales representatives and distributors
  • Prepare 12-month rolling forecast by sales territory and update on a monthly basis
  • Review achievement of target accounts and propose and implement corrective measures where necessary.
  • Develop with the National Sales Manager, strategies for penetrating and increasing business at target accounts with close scrutiny of reps and personal accountability for detailed follow up.
  • Implement targeted sales strategy, focusing on industrial goods, consumer electronics and high speed markets with a concentrated effort on selected OEMs
  • Direct selling strategy on key opportunities, including pricing, service, investment, risk, scheduling and technical promotion issues to achieve successful design wins
  • Provide communication support to reps and remove internal obstacles to sales success by communication and follow up with Hirose USA and Hirose Japan, enlisting National Sales Manager as needed.
  • Recruit, train and manage reps
  • Implement actions to increase effectiveness of individual reps to achieve design wins
  • Foster effective distributor relations within the region in conjunction with the National Distribution Sales Managers direction
  • Submit reports regarding activities within the region on a timely basis, generally on a weekly basis.
  • Help facilitate the scheduling of travel within the territory for Segment Leaders and Hirose management
  • Submit monthly performance reports on target account activity, major design opportunities and forecasts to the National Sales Manager.

 
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

     

  • BA/BS College degree
  • Minimum eight years sales experience
  • Minimum five years electronics industry experience.
  • Minimum three years management experience
  • Strong organizational skills
