JOB: Strategic Account Manager (2 positions)
LOCATION: San Jose, CA
STATUS: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Strategic Account Manager reports to the General Manager of Consumer Electronics and is responsible for the direct sales of connectors to specific strategic consumer electronics (CE) companies. This position works with customers on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish annual sales targets and the means to achieve these targets for strategic accounts.
• Develop relationships with all levels and functions of a strategic customer’s organization.
• Organize periodic customer visits by Japanese engineers and other Hirose personnel
• Perform sales promotion, negotiations and support activities at strategic accounts (e.g. trade shows, samples, quotes, order taking and problem resolution).
• Coordinate sales forecasts with Hirose and contract manufacturers, if applicable.
• Perform win/loss analysis on proposals and distribute findings within the company.
• Identify opportunities at strategic accounts for new product development.
• Provide frequent program activity updates at strategic accounts
• Interface with industry groups and standards committees, as necessary
• Communicate market and competitive information learned through sales activities to General Manager of Consumer Electronics.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• BS/BA degree
• 3+ years of successful sales history in the electronics industry
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to work with customers, and all company departments, to include Hirose Japan.
• Strong ability to organize and drive projects with effective project management skills.
• Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Positive attitude, proactive mentality, responsive and strong work ethic.
• Fluency in Japanese language and culture a plus, but not required.
