Communications
& Broadcasting
HIROSE’s
strength in this field is the comprehensive product development approach through the
fusion of co-axial and optical technologies, including the development of fine-pitch and
high-pin-count connector products.
HIROSE
developed new products such as Hi-PAS packages designed to achieve high-pin-count co-axial
connectors with a high density mounting, backplane connectors for switching and
transmission systems and fiber optic connectors.
In the
broadcasting and CATV connector area, HIROSE gained a greater market share through the
development of fiber/copper combined connectors for cameras with charge coupled devices
(CCD), ultra-small co-axial connectors and a large variety of microwave devices.
Computers
HIROSE
maintains a leading position in this vital area with the pioneering development of
connectors to serve the needs of the Internet explosion that is about to lay the
foundation for a full-fledged computer network society.
HIROSE has marketed a
broad range of new products for personal computers and work station servers, computer
peripherals, and office equipments.
Consumer
Electronics
With
full commitment to the development of products designed to make decisive inroads into the
consumer electronics market HIROSE established itself in the household electric appliances
and home entertainment and game equipment domains.
With the same commitment
HIROSE is now in the process of establishing itself in the amusement and digital home
electric equipment areas.
Measuring &
Control
HIROSE enriched its
radio-frequency know-how established in the development of co-axial connectors with a
variety of original technologies to create a product line-up covering a wide spectrum of
needs. These include microwave and millimeter wave co-axial connectors, ZIF/LIF supporting
low profile connectors, factory automation system connectors, automatic power distribution
system connectors, and input level switching attenuators.
Automotive
Connectors
HIROSE
established itself in the automotive field on the solid basis of its long-term R&D
commitment and results. HIROSE achieved a breakthrough into this area with the GT Series
connectors. The revolutionary concept of crimping signal and shield cables in a single
assembly drew the attention of the automobile industry.
At
present the HIROSE brand has firmly penetrated into the onboard car electronics field,
including car phones, navigation systems and car audio.
Our development efforts
will also target the electric vehicle and the ITS sector by taking into account the added
needs for safety and sturdy impact-resistant construction. |
HIROSE
established its Engineering Center in Yokohama in 1988 as the company’s comprehensive
technical development base to meet market-wide connector needs with a full product
line-up. The Center covers the Engineering, Production Engineering and Quality Control
departments and integrates them in a larger technical network.
HIROSE develops and
manufactures a vast range of well over fifty thousand different types of industrial
connectors that require advanced technology and a high level of specialization. The most
defining aspect of our development capability lies in the fact that about 30% of our
range are new products that come and go each year.
